The co-main event bout between Johny Hendricks and Tyron Woodley at UFC 192 has been scrapped after the former champion suffered weight cutting issues in the lead up to the fight, UFC president Dana White announced Friday.

White made the announcement via Twitter after Hendricks was apparently rushed to the emergency room on Thursday night.

According to sources inside Hendricks’ camp speaking to FOX Sports on Friday, the former champion suffered blockage in his intestine and kidney stones. Outside of being in intense pain from the blockage, Hendricks is OK physically and according to his camp the issues actually started before he was even going through the rigors of the main part of his weight cut prior to stepping onto the scale on Friday.

It’s an unfortunate turn of events for Hendricks, who was hoping to regain his spot as the No. 1 contender in the welterweight division after losing his championship to Robbie Lawler last December.

Hendricks has struggled with his weight cut down to 170 pounds in the past, especially ahead of his rematch with Lawler in 2014.

In the weeks leading up to the fight, Hendricks stated that he was in tremendous shape ahead of the scheduled fight with Woodley on Saturday night, but apparently his body shut down as he was attempting to cut the final pounds before hitting the scale on Friday.

UFC 192 moves forward with 12 total fights on the card with the light heavyweight bout between Ryan Bader and Rashad Evans likely getting bumped up to the co-main event with Hendricks vs. Woodley no longer happening.

UFC officials have not stated which preliminary bout will be moving up to the pay-per-view card as of yet.
