EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) Cleveland Browns wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is inactive against the New York Jets with a hamstring injury, while quarterback Johnny Manziel (elbow) will serve as the backup to Josh McCown.
Manziel was listed as probable after throwing in practice Monday for the first time since Aug. 23 because of elbow tendinitis. He has not played since the second preseason game Aug. 19 against Buffalo.
Cornerback Justin Gilbert is out with a hip flexor. He was not injured after crashing his car into a ditch following a road rage incident with another driver Friday. Gilbert was cited for failure to ''maintain reasonable control of his vehicle'' and released by Brunswick, Ohio, police.
Among the Jets' inactives are QB Geno Smith (jaw), WR Devin Smith (ribs) and RB Zac Stacy.
