Bubba Watson attends Blue Wahoos game, takes on top prospect

There are few friendlier or more comfortable settings than a minor league baseball game, so it's unsurprising that Bubba Watson would attend such a contest in a FedEx Cup Playoffs off week.
Of course with Bubba, things are often a little different. In this instance Watson wasn't just attending a Pensacola Blue Wahoos game, he's also a minority owner of the club.
Indeed, the 36-year-old, who purchased a minority stake in the team in January, was on hand Saturday as the Blue Wahoos – the Cincinnati Reds' Double-A squad – were eliminated from the Southern League playoffs.
And he enjoyed all of the perks of his partial ownership status.
Before the game, Watson gave the team a pregame speech, presented Jesse Winker an award for Minor League Baseball's August Player of the Month from the Southern League and threw to Winker in the batting cages.
Winker is one of the top prospects in the Reds' organization, and Watson took a timid approach in trying to pitch his way.
Watson also threw out the first pitch of the game.
Watson even stood on top of the home dugout and co-led "Take Me out To the Ballgame" during the seventh-inning stretch. Unfortunately for Watson, he couldn't rally the Blue Wahoos back from a 7-0 deficit, as the squad fell 7-5 to the Biloxi Shuckers.
But not a bad Saturday for an off week.
