Derrick Favors is trading autographs for good deeds with #FridayFavors

One of the best parts of the NBA has nothing to do with the on-court product. The players, teams and members of the NBA family care about their communities, and they show it on a regular basis. Now, Utah Jazz big man Derrick Favors is encouraging you — yes, you — to get out in your community and lend a helping hand. And if you do, you'll have a shot at winning some signed gear from the man himself.

According to a press release from Favors, fans are encouraged to participate in "random acts of kindness, compassion and caring for others in the hope that it will start a ripple effect." Then, starting today, September 18, fans can share their good deeds on social media using the #FridayFavors hashtag. Favors will share his favorites on each Friday, and in the middle of each month, winners will be selected to receive autographed items.

"I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to play the game I love for a living and it has given me a huge platform to help others," said Favors in the release. "But giving back isn’t just a celebrity thing; the smallest acts can make a big difference! We want to start a positive cycle with #FridayFavors and inspire others to join us to create a greater impact."

So get out there and do good every day — and on Fridays, share it with the world and with Favors. He wants to know how you're making your community a little bit better from one day to the next.
