Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan made no excuses for his two interceptions, instead, he took full responsibility for his mishaps. According to Vaughn
McClure of
ESPN
"On the first one, it was a pretty good play," Ryan told ESPN of the Alonso interception. "The throw's got to be a little bit higher. And it’s unacceptable. In the red area when you’re going in to score, you’re taking points off the board. So that one can’t happen."
Then he spoke about the second one, giving credit to the Philadelphia Eagles once again, but still taking the blame for the decision.
"And then the second one, it was third down being backed up. You don’t like to turn it over there, either. But they kind of did a good job with their coverage. … Can’t make that decision." Ryan explained.
Ryan's turnovers were obviously documented, but in the end, it's a lot easier to overlook two interceptions when your team wins the game. Ryan played a strong game, completing 23-of-34 passes for 298 yards, but most importantly, his side earned that win and now will head into Week 2 with a 1-0 record.
