The outpouring of affection for Ronda Rousey ahead of her last fight against Bethe Correia at UFC 190 in Brazil was overwhelming at times with fans and celebrities alike taking to Twitter, Instagram and every other social network to their support to the women's bantamweight champion.
From high profile actors like Chris Pratt to virtually every professional wrestler on the WWE roster, Rousey enjoyed a huge number of messages in the days leading up to her fight and then again after it was over.
This time as Rousey prepares to face Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Australia, Reebok is actually taking those words of inspiration and turning them into something the most dominant athlete in the world can use as she prepares for her fight.
The initiative is called 'More Than Tape' and it starts on Tuesday, September 15 and runs through Thursday, September 17.
Reebok is asking Rousey's most ardent supporters to hash tag #MoreThanTape while sending words of encouragement to the UFC women's bantamweight champion.
Reebok will then take those messages and print them onto rolls of athletic tape that Rousey will use to wrap her hands in the days and weeks leading up to her bout against Holm on November 14.
- Demetrious Johnson dominates rematch, defends belt at UFC 191
- Rousey stops Correia in 34 seconds at UFC 190
- UFC: Dillashaw stops Barao in rematch via fourth-round TKO
- Conor McGregor TKO's Chad Mendes, wins interim featherweight gold
- Robbie Lawler defends championship in title fight classic at UFC 189
For the next three days, Reebok will gather the messages and then present the tape to Rousey for her use in training camp.
The initiative only runs until September 17 with messages tagged #MoreThanTape then being used to provide encouragement and support for Rousey for the rest of her training camp in October and November.
