PHOENIX — The face of the Mercury, Diana Taurasi, bought 333 seats (in honor of her uniform No. 3) for each Mercury home playoff game and will give them away to fans on game day.
Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis starting with Game 1 of Phoenix's first-round series against Tulsa on Thursday. The game tips off at 7 p.m. and ticket redemption will begin at 4:30 p.m. on the US Airways Center Plaza.
"I may not be able to support our team on the court, but I wanted assist in another way for this year's playoff run," said Taurasi, who sat out this season after leading the Mercury to last year's WNBA championship. "We have the best fans in the league and I know how important they have been each time we've won a championship.
"This is my way of ensuring we continue to have the best home court advantage in the entire WNBA."
Game 2 is Saturday in Tulsa and Game 3, if necessary, will be Monday at US Airways Center.
