XFINITY Series driver Brennan Poole had a nerve-racking Sunday.
The pilot of the No. 42 DC Solar Solutions Chevrolet Camaro for HScott Motorsports with Chip Ganassi watched his girlfriend Lindsey Giannini — Miss New Jersey — compete in the 2016 Miss America pageant.
"It was cool to see Lindsey a part of a 95 year old tradition in our country," Poole told FOXSports.com. "She was able to win the Quality of Life Award for all she does in her community and I'm so proud of her on receiving that honor. If she is as nervous as I was for her, then I have no idea how she does it on race weekends."
Miss Georgia — Betty Cantrell — took home the crown after calling New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady a cheater.
