It’s impossible to be a Boston Red Sox fan — or a baseball fan in general — and not be enamored with the idea of what outfielder Mookie Betts can become.

In his first full season in the big leagues last summer, Betts posted a .291/.341/.479 slash line at the plate, smacking 42 doubles, 8 triples, 18 home runs and driving in 77 RBIs en route to becoming one of the most promising young players in baseball. He also managed to steal 21 bases and displayed above-average defensive prowess as Boston’s everyday center fielder — including some eye-popping plays we won’t soon forget.

That’s why it’s not surprising that some people already are calling for Betts to expand his trophy cabinet. Some have even gone so far as to predict he’ll compete for the American League MVP award.

We’ll let that infographic speak for itself besides pointing out the Hall of Fame company Betts has joined in certain categories (and All-Star company in others).

The summer of 2016 is shaping up to be a fun one at Fenway Park.
