Picture it: Dwayne Johnson grabs a microphone, steps up to the podium and declares, “Finalllllly, The Rock has joined the United States presidential race!”

It’s a dream some Americans are starting to envision, as questions surround the remaining candidates from both the Republican and Democratic parties. One website devoted to the movement — DwayneForPresident.com — even has gone so far as to make a “serious plea” for the WWE legend/box-office superstar to throw his hat in the ring.

The website, which notes the widespread uneasiness regarding the likely nominees from both major political parties, asks Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to “consider coming to our nation’s rescue by running for president as an independent.” It then goes on to list several reasons why The Rock would make a good POTUS.

The reasons include …
-Dwayne can win.
-Dwayne would appeal to Independents and across parties.
-Dwayne stands for expanding opportunities.
-Dwayne devotes much of his time and money to charity.
-Dwayne embodies American values.
-Dwayne knows the world and is a beloved international celebrity.
-Dwayne would be the ultimate uniter.

DwayneForPresident.com also lists the reasons why The Rock is qualified to be president and what it believes the global icon would stand for in the political sphere. It isn’t the only website stoking the fire, though. The Independent Journal Review also is jumping on the bandwagon, with Parker Lee pointing out several other reasons why Americans would be wise to put The Rock in the White House.

Sure, it all sounds kind of crazy. But then again, “crazy” is a good way to describe this year’s presidential race, which might only brcome crazier with Donald Trump (Republican) and Hillary Clinton (Democrat) on a collision course.

So, what do you say, Rock?

Cool piece on why I should run for President. Maybe one day. Surely the White House has a spot for my pick up truck..https://t.co/JpkZ4w1eh3

There’s always 2020, and The Rock versus Kanye West would be entertaining, if nothing else.
