Every now and then we see an NHL fight between two players you’d rarely expect to see drop the gloves.

That was the case Friday night when Vancouver Canucks forward Alex Burrows and St. Louis Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk got into a tussle.

The incident started when Shattenkirk slashed Burrows behind the play, and after a verbal exchange they decided to settle it right then and there.

It was Burrows’ first fight of the season, and he hasn’t fought more than twice in a single season since 2008-09. The bout was Shattenkirk’s second as a pro.

The Blues went on to beat the Canucks 4-0 and clinch a Western Conference playoff berth as a result.
