Friday night was one to forget for Iowa State basketball.

The Cyclones lost 84-71 to No. 1 seed Virginia in the Sweet 16 round of the Midwest region, ending their impressive season.

An Iowa State cheerleader also had to leave the game in the second half when a pass bounced off a Cyclones player’s foot and hit her in the face. She left the game and received a nice applause from the crowd.

There was no chance for her to get out of the way with how fast it all happened.
